Pamela L. Grutman
Pamela L. Grutman advises high-net-worth individuals, small businesses, and fiduciaries—particularly in the arts community—on sophisticated trust and estate planning, estate administration, and succession strategies aimed at preserving artistic and philanthropic legacies. Her estate planning practice is highly personalized and strategic, often involving complex family structures, multi-jurisdictional assets, and advanced tax planning.
Pamela has particular experience guiding clients through charitable giving strategies involving complex assets, such as art, closely held business interests, and real estate. She helps clients structure planned gifts and establish charitable vehicles—such as private foundations and charitable trusts—to align tax efficiencies with long-term philanthropic goals.
She also counsels clients on a wide range of art transactions, with a focus on their sales and income tax consequences. Pamela has worked closely with living artists and collectors to form nonprofit organizations as part of their estate plans, including filing for tax-exempt status and advising executors and boards on governance, restructuring, and regulatory compliance.
